(video installation, double-sided video projection with sound, video HD, 16:9, 6'14'', 2018)
The artwork consists of two projections
facing opposite directions and a separate soundtrack. Each of these elements are presented out of
sync. Both of the projections portray
a process of reparation: one of them showing the restoration of sight, the cataract
surgery, one of the causes of blindness,
the other, a monotonous and laborious
process of retouching photographs
which is a procedure of removing white
stains from the silver-based film, a picture of reparation of a photograph. The
projections are accompanied by a soundtrack - a text read in two languages: Polish and German about the inability of
capturing memories, the subjectivity of
memory and impossibility of constructing single objective truth.
